Diamond Metal Screens manufactures parts for Pollution Control Equipment such as discharge electrodes, box type collecting electrodes, rapping bar, rapping mechanisms, discharge frame, gas distribution plates, tube sheets for bag filters and external panels.

Pollution Control Systems

The ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR PLANT is an electrical system for separation of the solid and liquid suspended particles from gases and vapours under the effect of electrical fields.


In a part of the precipitator plant, the suspended particles are electrically charged and then separated. This section consists mainly of the precipitator casing with a built in electrode system and the internal equipment.

PRINCIPLES OF THE PROCESS :

The gases to be cleaned pass through the precipitator casing. The internal equipment of the precipitator casing consists mainly of high voltage carrying discharge electrodes (DE-negative pole) and the cathode collecting electrodes (CE-positive pole) which are arranged opposite the discharge electrodes.

The discharge electrodes (wires) are on high voltage and due to the direct current, the gas molecules are ionized. Thus the negative discharge is created. The dust and mist particles are attracted by the earthen collecting electrodes due to the electrostatic field created simultaneously between the collecting and discharge electrodes. The particles are separated from the gas flow at the collecting electrodes.

The precipitated dust is periodically dislodged from the collecting electrodes by means of a rapping system with hammers. The dust then drops into the collecting hopper and is extracted by dust discharge elements.

Diamond Metal Screens manufactures the following ESP Internals as per drawings and specifications provided by clients.

  • Precipitator Casing

    These casings can be manufactured from 2 mm to 5 mm thick. For fabrication of these casing panels, Diamond Metal Screens has installed 4 mt x 6 thick press brake, 4 mt x 8 thick shear, leveling machine and CO2 welding machine among various other handling facilities required for fabrication purposes.


 

 


  • Gas Distribution Plate

    In order to reach a uniform distribution of the gas stream, the precipitator inlet is fitted with gas distribution plates. These can be supplied as either finned type or plain. They can be supplied in one piece in sizes of 2 mt x 4 mt (subjected to availability of raw material) and from 1.5mm to 8 mm thick in mild steel or stainless steel


  • Tube Sheets

    The tube sheet is made of mild steel and stainless steel and can have various designs of holes. It is supplied in assembled conditions for ready fitment in the bag filter.


  • Discharge Electrodes

    Discharge electrodes come as either plain C.R.tubes/ strips, or with sharp spikes which are welded across at equal distances over the length of the strip/ tube. Both ends of each tube/ strip have clamping studs/ connecting pieces which are either crimped or projection welded.
    Processes which require projection welding machine, spot welding machine, crimping presses, etc are all done in-house.


  • Discharge Frame

    The discharge frame is made to hold the discharge electrodes. The electrodes are suspended at the center of the spaces formed by the parallel rows of collecting plates. The discharge frame is made with pipes drilled and welded together in a grid type arrangement and has holes to accommodate the discharge electrodes.

  • Rapping System

    In the rapping system, Diamond Metal Screens manufactures only rapping bars. The bottom ends of each row of the collecting electrodes are rigidly connected to a rapping bar by riveting. Each rapping bar consist of two parallel flat bars welded to anvils and a holding spacer at the other end. The rapping bar serves the primary purpose of holding the collecting electrodes and vibrating them to remove the precipitated dust.

  • 75 ton sectional perforating press
  • Projection welding machine
  • Spot welding machine
  • 4 mt wide shear
  • 4 mt wide press brake
